Description The fundamental purpose of this Toolkit is to suggest elements for a comprehensive national anti-corruption strategy and to assist governments in developing, integrating, implementing and assessing these elements. The elements can be used to provide basic information about corruption, for the training of officials, and to provide advice or assistance in gathering and assessing information, among other uses. The Toolkit covers aspects of prevention, enforcement, institution building, awareness raising, empowerment, anti-corruption legislation and monitoring. It emphasises that the anti-corruption tools presented are highly flexible and may be utilised at different stages and levels and in a variety of combinations according to the needs and contexts of each country or sub-region. These tools include assessment tools, institutional building related tools like judicial strengthening, situational prevention related tools like disclosure of assets, and tools for social measurers such as media training. |
