There were over 4,000 participants. They included 782 Government representatives, 586 from local authorities, 45 Parliamentarians, 921 from Non Governmental Organizations, 340 from the private sector, 335 academics and researchers, 373 delegates from a range of United Nations agencies, as well as delegates from foundations, other development partners and the media. One third were women.
