New Malaysian and Spanish envoys to UN-HABITAT Nairobi, 2 May 2006 – Two new Permanent Representatives to UN-HABITAT, Mr. Selwyn Das of Malaysia, and Mr. Nicolas Martin Cinto of Spain, last week presented their credentials to the UN-HABITAT Executive Director Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka. Mrs. Tibaijuka congratulated Mr. Das on his appointment and said she hoped it would bring closer cooperation between Malaysia and UN-HABITAT. She invited Mr. Das to participate at the third session of the World Urban Forum (WUF III) in Vancouver, Canada, 19-23 June 2006. She thanked Mr. Cinto, for Spain’s support to UN-HABITAT, particularly for hosting the Second Session of World Urban Forum (WUFII) in Barcelona, and said she was delighted that Spain recently increased its contributions to UN-HABITAT fourfold.
