Guarantã do Norte LA21 Project
Guarantã do Norte

The city of Guarantã do Norte has a population of 28,000 inhabitants. It has the typical climate of the Amazon Forest, tropical and humid, with an average of 26°. Until 1970, natives called Kreen Akarore mostly occupied this area. When the construction of the road BR 163 started, this group was taken to Parque Nacional do Xingu, a protected area. From then on, the city continued to grow based on: agriculture and cattle rising. The road is still unfinished.
