A national LA21 Programme to replicate the Nakuru experience to other Kenyan cities is currently under preparation. Nakuru LA21 Project The project involves: the implementation of a Strategic Structure Plan; strengthening the Town Planning Unit; resolving space-use conflicts around the bus park and market area; revitalising the Council’s rental housing stock; reinforcing community participation in solid waste management; and providing training to civic leaders.
