Global Perspective
Currently over 60 cities worldwide, representing more than 20 countries participate in the Sustainable Cities Programme. As a demand-led bottom-up programme, the activities in each city are customised to the city's individual needs, priorities and circumstances as identified by the key stakeholders in the city.
Currently, SCP activities are underway in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America and the Carribbean.
China, Chile, Ecuador, Egypt, Ghana, India, Malawi, Nigeria, the Philippines, Poland, Russia, Senegal, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Tunisia and Zambia, have various ongoing SCP city-level activities. In addition, national level activities are taking place in Egypt, Nigeria, the Philippines and Tanzania. Preparatory activities are underway in Bahrein, Botswana, Cameroon, Iran, Kenya, Lesotho, Rwanda, South Africa and Vietnam.
