World Water Forum, 16-22 March 2006, Mexico City, Mexico
UN-HABITAT will host a special event at the World Water Forum on 19 March. The event, Delivering the MDGs in Three Years: Lake Victoria Water and Sanitation Initiative, A Model Setting Regional Initiative, will be chaired by Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka, Executive Director of UN-HABITAT and co-chaired by Maria Mutagamba, Minister of State of Water, Uganda.

Stakeholder workshops have been held in the participating towns to build local consensus on the proposed immediate interventions and develop a framework for stakeholder engagement in programme monitoring and evaluation.

Town Hall Meetings 23-25 November 2004, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda
A series of town hall meetings were held to sensitize stakeholders in Bukoba and Muleba in Tanzania, Mutukula and Kyotera in Uganda and Kisii and Homa Bay in Kenya. Ministers responsible for Water from the three countries, Martha Karua, Kenya; Anthony Diallo, Tanzania; and Maria Mutagamba, Uganda joined the Executive Director of UN-HABITAT, Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka for discussions with various stakeholders, both users and providers of water and sanitation services.
