| As part of its preparations for World Habitat Day, the Government of Indonesia has organized a number of national seminars culminating with an international seminar in Bandung on 30 September. The international seminar is being run by the Research Institute for Human Settlements Agency for Research and Development, Ministry of Public Works, under the theme, The Millennium Development Goals and the City, aimed at establishing a roadmap to achieve targets 10 and 11 of the MDGs on access to water and improving the lives of slum dwellers. It will take place at the Horison Hotel, Jl. Pelajar Pejuang 45 No. 121, Bandung, Jawa, (Tel: +62 22 7305000).
The international workshop will share learning and experiences on achieving the targets from other countries including Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, South Korea, China, South Africa, and other countries working with UN-Habitat. The Government would also like to have input from international experts on human settlements and urban development from UN-HABITAT, universities, etc.
